frigates in the studio – playing with my organ

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

I went back into the studio with brian to finish my parts for the frigates record on wednesday – I did 3 organ parts (for damages & liabaility + help me, insanity + hey, cougar) and brian threw down some guitar parts – brian went back on friday – I’m not sure how far he got since he’s a jerk and won’t return my email

records: the best for less

I found this rad sign hanging up at studio media in between takes with frigates last night – it discusses all the pros (because there are no cons) of putting your music on record

frigates in the studo – part 2/4(?)

Monday, October 6th, 2008

had another slow day in the studio – not that it was unproductive, but things are taking longer than expected – plus we have to tear everything down completely at the end of every session since it’s in a real studio with clients every day

and when I say “real” studio, I am not fucking around: this is the studio where joel chasnoff recorded his undisputed masterpiece hanukah guilt!

there’s a sample bit on his site for those that are interested

anyway, we got all the rhythm tracks solid (with a few punch-ins and edits) and two more days scheduled for doing vocals, solos and organ but we won’t have this thing finished anytime soon sadly

while in evanston to record with frigates, we grabbed some tall boys …

while we were leaving, we noticed that there was skunk hanging around the white widow but we scared it off and didn’t get sprayed!

a camouflage beer can and a skunk are exactly the things I don’t want to see, which is why I moved to (a) the city

frigates in the studio – part 1

I spent the entire day (12+ hours) in the recording studio with frigates at studio media – Marc’s roommate, Ben, engineered and
sturdy came out and took some photos that I’m anxious to see

we played the songs really fast (not really quickly though) and ended up spending about 12 hours in the space – it was intense but we got a lot done

back again tomorrow for overdubs – we probably won’t have enough time to finish
