how I became a wii fit champion without doing anything

April 10th, 2009

americans love to hear about how they can either get rich or lose weight quickly so here’s my success story - as you may recall from an older post, I got a wii fit and gained some weight - well, I stopped using my wii fit completely and lost like 20 pounds!

since then, I’ve been weighing myself every morning and then I just think about the weight difference from the previous day when I think about what I’m going to eat - I get really pumped when the number goes down and really upset when it goes up and that helps me stay away from the junk food - it’s a surprisingly effective technique - dig the results

if I actually started working out, I would probably be totally awesome

ASM + TOUGH SHITS + STALKERS

April 10th, 2009

we played with the TOUGH SHITS again on wednesday night - it was lots of fun

I love those guys - I don’t think we played that well, but we’ll see - ryan’s buddies video taped it - after the show I tried unsuccessfully to pick up adam and we both crashed onto the street - I can hardly walk now - I definitely fucked something up - my hips are crooked - I’m gonna try to rig up a rope on a pulley and see if I can do a little chiropractic-magic on myself - wish me luck

long time, no blog

man - I forgot about this thing - I’ve been mad busy - did the RPM challenge - played a show with the Automatic Wedding Machines and changed the oil in scootington - anywho, my friend at work showed me a bunch of old tunes of mine he had on his laptop - I thought I had lost all this stuff in a hard drive crash a while back - I’m pretty pumped though I’m still missing a lot of songs from a few years earlier - why don’t you tickle your earholes with this old school jive?

alert!

February 28th, 2009

man - I have posted in a while - busy busy busy with rpm challenge - the records almost done - you can hear it in progress here.

the real reason i’m here is to talk about google alerts ….

I have them setup for my website, and the websites for all my bands and whatnot - most of the time, it’s crap, but once in a while I find something interesting like a review or a post about an upcoming show - sometimes I find stuff from my past - but today I found this which I wasn’t really expecting and I’m really not sure how to interpret it …

theory blog!

January 6th, 2009

I’m addicted to google reader and since google knows everything about me, including, but not limited to, what I like, it often suggests feeds for me that I might like. one such feed is guitargear.org

the author (goofydawg) writes reviews of gear and whatnot - yesterday, he posted an article on theory that had some inaccurate stuff and since I’m an incessant know-it-all, I couldn’t help but post a correction - it came out more strongly than I had intended and I posted a nicer follow up with some examples - he e-mailed me last night and asked if I would like to contribute - now, I’ve wanted for some time to do some writing or teaching about theory since most of my friends don’t have as much formal training as I do and I thought this was a great opportunity so I took him up on the offer!

I just posted my first article - a brief intro to western music tonality and terminology related to chords, scales and notes - I’m pretty excited about this - I think it will be a good opportunity for me to spout off that someone might actually read (no offense, dearest loyal readers)

wesman radio

I always used to talk about getting an FM transmitter - not the kind for your ipod, but one that’s a few watts that could hit the whole neighborhood - I’d hook it up to my itunes and just let it rip all day - well, considering that one of these transmitters costs about as much as a pair of silver fluevogs, the odds of me buying the transmitter are slim - this got me to thinking about how much I like to make mix CDs and whatnot which all lead me into podcasting - I’ve been working on this for a few days now and just posted my first episode!

you can click the itunes link on the right and you can subscribe automatically in itunes and listen to it wherever - not just within 200 yards of my crib

anyway - I hope you rikey rikey!

so, this is x-mas

December 25th, 2008

yo!

dig this sweet jacket that my awesome sister got me for x-mas!

oh baby!

I also got some rad music (the jam AND the style council box sets!) and some sweet headphones and a really sweet jacket

being home is nice - there’s absolutely nothing to do except hang out in this rad house with the family - when you go outside at night it’s totally quiet

a lot of my friends are from chicago - or ohio - or boston - most of them live in or near some type of urban area - I have a hard time explaining that I really did grow up in the woods - however, it’s not totally backwoods stuff (even though my folks’ house is about 1/2 a mile from paved road) - check out these pink guns!

see what I mean? these guns are totally about equality of the sexes

there’s no angels like snow angels!

December 21st, 2008

oh baby!

last night was the snow angels show at delilah’s - it was a lot of fun - tons of people showed up and most of them danced - especially during the drunken 2nd set

since I’m the keyboard guy, I get wedged in the back but here’s a sweet photo of the guys that make it happen up front

in a way, I’m like the quarterback and they’re like the linemen

now I’m off home for x-mas in a few hours
